In 1942, in the midst of the Second World War, convinced that Nazi Germany was developing a nuclear weapon, the United States started, in the greatest secrecy, the Manhattan Project intended to develop the first atomic bomb in history. The American government decides to put the brilliant physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer in charge of the project. In the ultra-secret laboratories at Los Alamos, in the New Mexico desert, the scientist and his team of experts begin to design a revolutionary weapon whose terrible consequences continue to be felt to this day.
